About Women on the Make

Women on the Make was formed from performers and writers based in Bath and Wells and who have worked together on a range of comedy projects including the infamous Widcombe Players whose regular performances have become a feature of the Bath comedy scene.

This new show is written by Jeremy Towler and Angela Vick, directed by Nick Stimson, designed by Ralph Oswick and supported by Natural Theatre Company. The first workshop took place in April 2009 as part of the Bath Comedy Festival.

Let Them Eat Cake! will be performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2011.

In their first show "Women on the Make" invite you to take an eccentric turn through the pages of history. Forget Time Lords and fancy machines and join this crabby band of middle-aged ladies as they delve into the murky recesses of the lives of past women on the make!

"Women on the Make is a very creative group with great potential. They're older women with something to say and with a hugely entertaining wit and style that appeals to all ages. As Artistic Director of the Natural Theatre Company it has been my pleasure to support their development and we look forward to seeing them flourish in the future".
